Meet our Clementon Republican Candidates
GARY SAUNDERS
Candidate for Mayor
Gary Saunders has been a resident of Clementon for more than 45 years. He attended Clementon Elementary School, the W. T. Gibbs School and graduated from Overbrook Regional Senior High School.
Gary belongs to Masonic Lodge #237 of Laurel Springs and has been a member of the Square Circle Sportmen’s Club since 1998, where he presently serves as President. He has also served as the Code Enforcement officer and has been on the Clementon Zoning and Planning Board.
As a retired boilermaker, Gary plans to be a “hands-on” Mayor. He intends to be available to YOU and maintain an office in borough hall for that purpose.

STEVEN SILVESTRO
Candidate for Borough Council
Steven Silvestro has been a Clementon resident for 7 years. He grew up in Blackwood and Glendora where he attended Highland High School. He enjoys spending time with his daughter and grandson and he also likes hunting, riding his motorcycle, boating and racing cars.
While working in different fields of road work and truck driving for 32 years, he helped his community in many different ways. He is now an Operating Engineer Union member and he has been a member of the Lindenwold Moose Lodge for over 2 years.
Steven enjoys living in the small town of Clementon. He would like to help improve the town for current and future generations. Lastly, he would like to help keep the “small town feel” that Clementon is known for, and its rich history.

WILLIAM WEYLAND
Candidate for Borough Council
William and his wife HeleneJo have lived in Clementon since 1991.They have four children, who all attended Clementon Elementary School. William grew up in central Jersey and attended East Brunswick public schools. Following high school, he enrolled at Rutgers University, majoring in biomedical sciences.
Presently, William is retired from Rowan Police Department where he held the rank of sergeant for twenty-two years. He served as a trainer in various roles associated with his profession. He enjoyed teaching CPR classes through both Cooper Hospital and the Kennedy Health Systems, and was also a member of the Pine Hill First Aid Squad for several years.
He was a member of the Clementon Board of Education for ten and a half years and earned the title of Master Board Member. He is also a member of the Pine Hill Knights of Columbus Archangel Council, the Lindenwold Moose Lodge and Square Circle Sportsmen Club.
Bill’s vision of Clementon’s future is "a place where families are proud to live and play; a town where strong community pride and sound financial decisions are practiced every day. Every child should have a safe and healthy life with many recreational activities. Much can be accomplished if the community unites its resources and works toward a common goal."
William’s dedication to community service combined with his professional experience and strong family values have prepared him for the challenges of a leadership role in municipal government.
